Even couch potatoes know that Idaho State University (ISU) is the spud state's place to go for a good education. The state institution provides graduate and undergraduate instruction through departments in seven colleges. The school's 15,000 students can choose from about 280 certificate and degree programs in a range of subjects including arts and sciences, business, health professions, and technology. In addition to its main campus in Pocatello, the school also has academic centers in Idaho Falls, Meridian, and Twin Falls as well as a research institute specialized in natural and physical sciences. ISU was established as the Academy of Idaho in 1901.
