The Manchester Airport Group is responsible for managing the masses making their way to and from Manchester. It oversees services such as baggage handling, parking, and security for the Manchester Airport, Northern England's primary international gateway and one of the UK's largest airports outside London. In addition to its primary facility, the group manages two other airport facilities in the region: East Midlands and Stansted. Manchester's City Council owns a 55% stake in the group; the remainder is controlled by nine other local governments in Greater Manchester, each of which owns 5% of the group.
