With some 315 stores, The Jessop Group (known as Jessops) is the largest photography and related equipment and services retailer in the UK. Founded in 1935 by the Jessop family, the stores (and Web site) offer some 20,000 items such cameras, camcorders, camera phones, film, and equipment including scanners, printers, scopes, studio lighting, and darkroom products. The company's services include photo development, restoration, and professional imaging. The founding family operated Jessops until 1996 when a group of management, with assistance from NatWest Equity Partners, purchased the company.
