Independent oil and gas exploration and production company Premier Oil has a penchant for pumping petroleum in both political hot spots (Egypt and Pakistan) as well as in calmer political environments (Mauritania, Indonesia, Norway, Vietnam, and the UK). In 2010 Premier reported proved and probable reserves of 261 million barrels of oil equivalent, and production of 42,800 barrels of oil equivalent per day. It plans to add 200 million barrels of potential reserves by developing its core assets and making acquisitions in its three areas of strategic focus -- the North Sea/West Africa, the Middle East/Pakistan, and South East Asia.
