Peso-pinching shoppers in Mexico can't miss Organización Soriana's huge stores. The company is Mexico's second-largest retailer based on sales (behind Wal-Mart de México) with about 510 Soriana-branded hypermarkets (huge stores that sell both food and general merchandise), supermarkets, membership clubs, and mini-marts in more than 160 Mexican cities; many offer financial products through Banamex joint venture SORIBAN, auto shops, clinics, and other services. Soriana also operates about 300 Super City convenience stores and 14 distribution centers. The families of cousins CEO Ricardo Martín Bringas and director Alberto Martín Soberón own most of the company and help run it. Soriana was founded in 1968.
