Our mission is to replace petroleum-based chemicals with fully sustainable, zero carbon specialty chemicals. We believe a renewable economy has arrived. Our part in this new economy is to create a more efficient, sustainable supply of specialty chemicals.
Blue Marble Biomaterials develops natural, non-GMO chemicals for the food, fragrance, and personal-care product industries. Our chemicals offer an alternative to chemicals that are made from crude oil—which can be found in 95 percent of manufactured goods. We use plant-based side streams (leftovers)—primarily from food and beverage manufacturers—as the starting ingredients of our chemicals. Our products include esters, extracts, and acids—all of which have applications in all three industries—and sulfur compounds, which specifically apply to the food industry.
