IKONICS makes light-sensitive coatings (emulsions) and films, used primarily by the screen printing and abrasive etching markets (to create stencil images for the one and to create architectural glass and art pieces for the other). The company also makes photoresist films and metal etching materials for sign making and ink jet receptive films for creating photopositives and photonegatives. Custom etching services and digital imaging technologies for niche industrial markets is of increasing importance to the company. IKONICS sells its products through about 200 distributors worldwide, although the US accounts for more than two-thirds of sales.
