Wicked Weed Brewing Snapshot
Wicked Weed was imagined, created, and brought to life by the Dickinsons and the Guthys; two local Asheville families that have been lifelong friends, each bringing a unique skill to the collective ownership team. We opened our original Brew Pub location in 2012 – where we strode to continually create and keep 25 unique brews on draft never serving the same thing twice. Our original founders were heavily inspired by West Coast style IPAs and Sour beers.
Since then, Wicked Weed has been constantly growing and learning and creating. In fact as our sour program grew we opened the South’s first sour beer-dedicated taproom, The Funkatorium in 2014 and attached to that is the soon to reopen fine dining experience – Cultura named after our Spontaneous Fermentation Ale.
As our self-distribution began in 2014, we opened our Clean Production Facility in Candler, NC – now also home to our Wicked Weed West Taproom. As well as our headquarters/Sour Beer Production Facility in Arden, NC – aka The Funk House. It’s now also the home of our Vidl wines!
In order to continue the growth we’ve seen in the past six years, Wicked Weed Brewing entered into a partnership with the Anheuser-Busch family of craft breweries in 2017. And since then, we’ve been able to create more beer, offer even better employee benefits, distribute into more markets on the East Coast, and give more money back to our community.
With four locations in Asheville including three taprooms and a fine dining restaurant, Wicked Weed shows no signs of slowing down. We continue to grow while focusing on creativity, innovation, quality, and strong roots in our community of Asheville, North Carolina.
