Mission Play Like a Girl is on a mission to advance the health and empowerment of women and girls through the transformative power of sport and physical activity. To accomplish this, we deliver the early, positive experiences girls need to develop a lifelong passion for sport and health-enhancing physical activity. In addition, our programmatic agenda focuses on three key factors in girls’ personal growth: confidence and self-esteem, healthy behaviors, and academic and leadership skills.
Description Play Like a Girl is a Nashville-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2004. Throughout our 12-year history, the organization has remained 100% volunteer with our founder providing leadership for day-to-day operations, a level of managerial stability which is uncommon in today’s business world.

In 2010, Play Like a Girl launched its first full-scale after-school program, serving 350 middle school girls from underserved communities in Dallas, Texas. Since that time, Play Like a Girl programming has expanded to include a Clubs program and our popular Pop-Up Play Day, providing more than 10,000 girls across the U.S. and Canada with early, positive experiences in sport, physical activity and active play.

Play Like a Girl continues to flourish as one of the nation’s only community-based organizations leveraging the collective power of women to connect girls to life-changing experiences in sport and health-enhancing physical activity.
