Despite the name, the company has taken a grounded approach to its business offerings, specializing in in the sale and distribution of cable TV, broadcast, satellite, and VSAT-related products. Customers consist of telephone and cable companies located around the world. The company also offers installation, maintenance, and systems integration services for clients located throughout North America. Thanks to distribution agreements with Motorola Mobility and the Scientific-Atlanta unit of Cisco Systems, SEG supplies products for most US cable platforms. The company was acquired in 2009 by TVC Communications.
