Founded in 1994 by the Original Organic Beauty Pioneer, John Masters Organics was born from a simple but radical idea: that nature is the best source for clean beauty without risk.
A personal passion for healthy, holistic living became a professional calling, drawing John, a leading stylist, away from the world of posh New York salons to pursue a better, gentler way to care for hair. Working with the best organic ingredients available and seeing clients out of his tiny New York apartment eventually led John to open the world’s first “clean air” salon in Soho, a revolutionary salon concept with no chemical treatments, no damaging colorants—not even hairspray.
Today, this singular vision has become a global brand that continues to lead the way in organic and natural beauty. What began with a few handmade products made over the kitchen sink now includes a full line of haircare, skincare, and body care. With 70+ stores in Japan, Hong Kong, and the United States, and available in 40 other countries worldwide, we at John Masters Organics hope to inspire people everywhere to discover and cultivate their own perfectly natural beauty.
