The company's independent power production subsidiary, Synex Energy Resources, develops, purchases, owns, and operates generation facilities in western Canada. The subsidiary owns and operates hydroelectric plants (4MW of capacity) in British Columbia. Synex International's other subsidiary, Sigma Engineering, provides consulting, design, and environmental assessment services for hydroelectric projects. The engineering division's core competency is the overall planning and design of hydroelectric plants.
