Denny Menholt Auto Group is proud to be your preferred Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota automotive dealer. In the automotive industry, 37 years is a pretty long time. So how have we stayed in business since 1987-and how did we get started in the first place? Having grown up in Canton, South Dakota-a small town of 2,500-Denny understands what it's like to be part of the tight-knit fabric that small towns seem to weave. He started in mobile home sales and became manager of Iseman mobile homes in Huron, South Dakota at the ripe age of 22 years old. Two years later, he transitioned to automotive sales. He first worked for two small dealerships and moved to Brookings, South Dakota, where he married and started a family. He then became part-owner of a mobile home company and after he and his partners sold the business in 1979, he went back in the automotive industry working for Frank Stinson Chevrolet in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. “It was the first time I'd worked in a big store,” Denny said. “I immediately fell in love with the competition and the hustle and bustle in a larger store.” Within six years, he had worked his way to the position if General Sales Manager. And two years later, he became a partner when Stinson fronted the money for Denny to take over his first dealership, Billings Frontier Chevrolet. Fast forward 37 years, and Denny is still serving customers in Montana, Wyoming and South Dakota. In the last 37 years, the same principles Denny held near and dear at the start of his career have remained. It is those principles that has grown the group adding eight more dealerships throughout Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Throughout it all, the Menholt Group has continued to focus on great customer service, investing in quality employees and the communities they serve. “I think the value of any organization comes down to the employees”- DENNY MENHOLT.
