Nearly 150 years ago, Gustavus Swift founded Swift & Company, which was strategically located in Chicago. He was a true pioneer whose passion and innovative spirit transformed the meat industry, including the introduction of the refrigerated railway car to more effectively transport meat to customers and consumers across the United States. This commitment to transformation mirrors that of Swift Prepared Foods today – a prepared foods company on a journey to realize the full potential of protein.
