Founded in 1988, The Century Family (dba Century Media Records) is an independent metal record label with a long road to its 100 anniversary. The company's recording artists span the genres of rock, goth, death, black, power metal, and hardcore, and include bands such as Arch Enemy, Cryptopsy, Shadows Fall, and Skinlab. Founded in Germany by Robert Kampf, the company has expanded its operations internationally and sports offices in eight countries in Australia, Brazil, Europe, and North America. Although the heavy metal and its variant strains may have seen better days, Century Media has remained committed to signing and developing artists and music in some of its more extreme forms.
