Its main customers are manufacturers of agricultural and construction equipment, automobiles, appliances, and trucks and trailers. Steel Warehouse operates from its central facility in Indiana and six branches throughout the Midwest and Tennessee as well as another in Mexico; it serves customers in more than 30 states. The company was founded by Nate Lerman in 1947 and is still run by the Lerman family.
