      Description You can gamble on a solid academic foundation with The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). The system oversees Nevada's public colleges and institutions. NSHE encompasses eight institutions: the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; the University of Nevada, Reno; Nevada State College; community colleges Truckee Meadows, Great Basin College, College of Southern Nevada, and Western Nevada College; and environmental research arm Desert Research Institute (DRI). The system, which enrolls more than 108,000 students, is governed by the Nevada Board of Regents, consisting of 13 members elected for six-year terms. NSHE was established in 1968.
