Description They never sing How Dry I Am at Dry Creek Vineyard. The grape grower/winemaker specializes in producing sauvignon blanc but also produces zinfandel, merlot, chardonnay, and fumé blanc. The vineyard's grapes were planted in California's Dry Creek Valley in 1972 by David Stare; the winery was built the following year. Today it owns 200 acres of vineyards. Some 35 years later, Stare's children still own and operate Dry Creek. The Stare family's love of sailing (the winery is not far from Lake Sonoma, and, farther west, the Pacific Ocean) is reflected in Dry Creek's labels, which feature sailing ships.
