Description The University of San Diego (USD) is a private coeducational Roman Catholic university with an enrollment of more than 7,000 students. It offers more than 60 bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in areas such as arts and sciences, business administration, education, engineering, law, and nursing. The university also home to the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, established in 2003 by the wife of McDonald's founder Ray Kroc. Adjacent to the USD campus is the St. Francis Seminary; young men studying for the priesthood attend the university for the academic portion of their course work. USD was formed in 1972 by the merger of San Diego University and San Diego College for Women.
