Description Claremont McKenna College (CMC) is an coeducational, undergraduate liberal arts college with an annual enrollment of some 1,200 students. It offers about 50 majors and academic programs. CMC is also home to nearly a dozen research centers, including The Keck Center for International and Strategic Studies and The Center for Human Rights Leadership. The college is managed by the Claremont University Consortium, which supports seven independent Claremont colleges and is modeled after the University of Oxford. CMC was founded in 1946 as Claremont Men's College; it became coeducational in 1976 and changed its name to Claremont McKenna College in 1981 in honor of founding trustee Donald C. McKenna.
