Description As soon as the fish hit the docks, Young's Seafood takes it from there. The company processes and distributes value-added fresh and frozen seafood products to supermarkets and foodservice groups throughout the UK. It sources some 60 different fin- and shellfish species from 30 countries and turns them into frozen breaded fillets, fingers, pies, and steaks. Young's subsidiary Polarfrost Seafood's offers cod, haddock, and saithe; its Kilkeel and Anchor unit handles shellfish. Young's was founded in 1805 and was formerly known as Young's Bluecrest Seafood. It is owned by the UK's giant branded food company Findus Group. (Findus, which sells food in much of Europe, is owned by investment firm Lion Capital.)
