Barnett Quality Control Services, Inc. dba NOVA Services, Inc. (NOVA) was founded in 2008 and is a family owned and operated business. We provide geotechnical engineering and geology, earthwork observation and testing, special inspection, materials testing, and non-destructive testing services for all types of projects including municipal infrastructure, education, transportation/aviation, affordable housing, mixed-use residential/retail/commercial, high-rises, parking structures, healthcare, tribal projects, industrial developments, and office complexes.

- Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) certified through the Department of VA

NOVA has a staff of over 90 registered engineers and geologists, inspectors, project managers, and technicians as well as support personnel committed to providing our clients with exceptional service. Our inspectors and technicians hold the appropriate certifications required for our work through various regulatory or municipal agencies, including the American Concrete Institute (ACI), American Welding Society (AWS), City of San Diego, and International Code Council (ICC). Our soils technicians are nuclear gauge and HAZMAT certified and participate in annual refresher courses.
Our laboratory maintains the highest degree of certification and accreditation for equipment, methodology, quality control, and technical training. We undergo regular assessments and participate in Proficiency Sample Programs with the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL) and AASHTO re:source (formerly AMRL). Our San Diego laboratory is approved by the City of San Diego, has been validated by the US Army Corps of Engineers, and is inspected and accepted by Caltrans, the Division of the State Architect (DSA) and Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI). Our Los Angeles laboratory is approved by the City of Los Angeles.
