Description It's San-J or the highway when it comes to tamari sauce in the US. San-J International, a subsidiary of Japan's San-Jirushi Corporation, makes San-J brand tamari and shoyu soy sauces. The company also makes bottled Asian cooking and grilling sauces, salad dressings, miso soups, and brown rice crackers. Its products are distributed to food retailers throughout the US, and Canada and include Kroger, Whole Foods, Ralph's, Safeway, Wild Oats, and Super Target. San-Jirushi built the San-J plant in 1987 following a successful foray into the US import market.
