South Dakota Mines Snapshot
The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, also known as South Dakota Tech, was founded in 1885. About 2,000 Tech students pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees, primarily in science and engineering fields. The school offers instruction through more than a dozen departments in a handful of colleges, which include the College of Earth Systems, the College of Interdisciplinary Studies, the College of Material Sciences and Engineering, and the College of Systems Engineering.
