Description Twin Butte Energy doesn't sit atop of the energy industry in western Canada, but it has started its climb. Twin Butte is an oil and gas exploration, development, and production company that has assets on more than 150,000 net acres in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Its half-dozen properties, located in Alberta and British Columbia, have proved net reserves of 23,212 MMcf (million cu. ft.) of natural gas and 1,528 Mbbl (thousand barrels) of light and medium oil; it produces more than 8,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. In 2010 it acquired producing properties in the Frog Lake area of northeastern Alberta for $19 million. Twin Butte traces its roots back to 1997.
