Vitacress Salad aims to make eating watercress hip, and fixing a salad much easier. While the UK company is Europe's largest provider of watercress, it also grows and packages washed rocket (arugula), spinach, and other baby salad greens. Beyond salad, the firm also produces and distributes specialty vegetables such as potatoes, beets, and tiny peas and onions. In addition to the UK, Vitacress has associated growers in Kenya, Portugal, and Spain. Vitacress supplies retailers and foodservice operators in the UK, Holland, Portugal, and Spain. RAR Group, a Portuguese private food, packaging, real estate, and tourism company, acquired Vitacress for some £53 million (about $93 million) in 2008.
