      Description First Milk Limited packs the collective power of some 2,500 UK dairy farmer members. Through its dairy-processing plants, the cooperative oversees the processing and distribution of milk (around 1.5 billion liters a year), Cheddar cheese, and dairy ingredients (whey, lactose, milk powders). Its milk and cheese customers include other dairy processors, food retailers, and school lunch providers; its ingredient customers are in the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. CEO Peter Humphreys resigned in 2010. Executive director Kate Alum replaced him. In 2011 First Milk acquired Kingdom Cheese and Kingdom Dairies of Fife, Scotland, boosting its UK presence and cheese offering.
