Rising from a purchase from Procter & Gamble, the Sunny Delight Beverages Co. (SDBC) was founded in 2004. Managed by a team of former P&G executives, Sunny Delight has now reached high noon with the manufacture of its juice-based drinks. The company's brands, which are fortified with vitamins B1 and C and are primarily marketed to children, include SunnyD Original and SunnyD Orange Blends. Sunny Delight has since begun chasing after the adult juice market, shared with Tropicana and POM. Its products are available throughout North America. The company sold its operations in Western Europe to Japan's Suntory Holdings. Sunny Delight is owned by Beverage Holdings, a unit of private investment firm J.W. Childs.
