The firm was founded by Andrew M. Edison, David T. McDowell, and Thomas F. A. Hetherington, three highly regarded trial attorneys in Houston, Texas. The firm was renamed McDowell Hetherington in January 2018 when founding partner Andrew Edison was appointed to the federal bench as a United States Magistrate Judge. Since the firm opened in 2009, it has expanded to four offices, located in Texas, California, and Florida.
