Description One of China's three largest airline companies (along with Air China and China Southern Airlines), China Eastern Airlines (CEA) transports passengers and cargo to about 150 destinations in China and foreign cities in more than 20 countries. The carrier operates a fleet of about 250 aircraft, including Airbus and Boeing models. CEA's primary hub is in Shanghai; the company also maintains bases in northwestern and southwestern China. CEA Holding, a company owned by the Chinese government, owns a controlling stake in the airline. In late 2009 the company acquired smaller rival Shanghai Airlines in a deal worth $1.3 billion.
