Description Scheid Vineyards hasn't shied away from the expensive and timely task of growing grapes for wine. The company works about 5,300 acres of vineyards, mainly located in Monterey County, California. It has the capacity to process approximately 30,000 tons of grapes every harvest. Its main business is producing bulk wine, which it sells to other winemakers for blending. Scheid also makes its own wines under the Scheid Vineyards label; they are available in the Monterey area and through the company's Web site. The Scheid family, including founder and chairman, Alfred Scheid, control a majority of the company.
