Description The Frisco RoughRiders are the AA affiliate team of the Texas Rangers major league baseball club. The team plays in the Texas League, appointed to the South Divison. The minor league team plays at the Dr Pepper Ballpark located in Frisco, Texas .

The RoughRiders name was presented by the American press on the 1st U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment during the Spanish–American War. The franchise was based in Shreveport, Louisiana, but moved to Texas in 2003 by the purchase of Mandalay Entertainment and the Southwest Sports Group.
