Loving my job Again …

Pros

In summer 2021, I had fallen out of love with recruitment, having worked for 6 years in a large corporate recruitment business and working through the pandemic, I was adamant that I didn’t want to work in recruitment EVER again. Until I met with 3search…. I was introduced to one of the founders by my previous manager who I trusted. I was told: “ 3 search is different - all about recruitment - none of the drama.” So I went along to see for myself. I was sold the dream and I sacked off my internal recruitment idea and started with 3search in September 2021! I am nearly 6 months in and I continue to be completely mind blown by 3search and how much they care about their people. It’s a high performance environment with high reward and a really collaborate and friendly culture. What has made my first 6 months so great? 1. The quality of work we are given and the amount of incoming business with little need for BD 2. The investments they make for staff, unlimited drinks/food/fruit/ breakfasts 3. The hands on nature of the directors, always getting stuck in and giving time to consultants when needed 4. How much money I have made (4 times more in bonus that my previous employer who claim to be industry leading) 5. The unlimited holiday - (it is actually unlimited!!!!) 6. The quarterly socials 7. The support for mental health and well-being for staff 8. The annual and monthly incentives …. I could go on. All in all, 3search is a cracking place to work - and mainly because they hire really good people! Thank you for making me love my job again and for letting me be a part of something very exciting!

Cons

We could do with upgrading the wine in the fridge - no one like Barefoot! :)

Pros

Great personalities that work there, good friends made.

Cons

Zero career progression unless you are a family friend or ‘lad’. There are people I have seen work twice as hard as management, there longer, who were not promoted.

Thanks for your review – obviously it’s disappointing to read. Our business is founded on merit and performance, and we reward consistent results at all levels. Hard work is clearly valued, however, like any target driven role, ultimately it comes down to results. Addressing the ‘lad’ point specifically, we are very aware the business was founded by three men, and are working extremely hard to develop women into leadership roles. Depending on when you were with the business, hopefully you saw a range of promotions at different levels. We’re really proud of everyone who has moved through the business, especially the 2 graduates who we hired in 2017 and then promoted in 2018. Both of these promotions were to women, so we fundamentally disagree with your statement that we offer zero career progression unless you are a family friend or ‘lad’. We are passionate about developing talent and moving as many woman as possible into management and wider leadership roles. We absolutely encourage (and will continue to do so) internal referrals when it comes to hiring as we believe it’s a great way for us to find top talent.

Pros

grown up environment where the incentive is on you to work rather than ridiculous sales targets. The directors are the hardest working people in the office so set an example, rather than some recruitment firms where leadership are almost invisible. Its a really relaxed office (dress as you want and dress for the market you recruit), whilst the "games room" is the latest must have gimmick for all recruitment firms - 3Search certainly tick this box. Add incentives, monthly away days and huge quarterly events, plus directors who are always happy to put their card behind the bar, its a great place to work. A lot of the management level have grown with the business so its proof that it is a meritocracy.

Cons

As the company is still growing there is an onus on you to do the whole job - BD AND delivery and you are not just going to be handed everything on a plate. Not necessarily a Con, but this is not a place for the work shy.
