Pros
It's a cutting edge industry working in some exciting sectors. Many of your colleagues are the nicest ppl you will ever meet
Cons
It is a company with serious HR problems. There has been a tremendous churn of senior staff with 3 Marketing Managers, Sales Director, Research Director and a number of FDs all leaving in the last 18 months. This seems to be due to the behaviour of the CEO who appears to want to micro- manage senior team members. He will want information in super granular detail and then refuse to make a decision. If you are lucky you may get a rollocking for not delivering on a project when you are waiting for an in neccessary decision. It is impossible, in my experience, to agree budgets for programmes unless they are a vanity project sanctioned by the CEO. There is a great deal of favouritism. Pros
Opportunity to develop Additive Manufacturing knowledge, good understanding of this technology, good range of materials in production, good range of materials being developed.
Cons
Has a bonus scheme but doesn't work, no true pay rises, no training, no career planning. Company more than 5 years facing financial difficulties. Non skilled management.
