Pros

It's almost impossible to think of anything but if I had to say something nice it would be that you are paid weekly.

Cons

Oh boy, where do I begin? First of all, do some research outside of Glassdoor about this company. This company does not care about its employees. You are simply a money generator for them. You will be written up immediately if your sales numbers do not satisfy them. Management will embarrass you in front of your peers on the weekly team meetings if your numbers dip. The CEO of the company will have you jump on a call with him within the first week of employment to make it seem like he will be involved in the day-to-day of the job. That will be the first and last time you talk to him. During my call with him, he literally bragged about how rich he was for an hour straight. I wish I was joking. He will also try and sell you some idea that there are Territory Mangers getting five-figure paychecks. If you believe that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. The training was abysmal. Managers will gossip about other employees behind their back. Just sort these reviews by "lowest rated" and see some of the unprofessional responses from the company.

Pros

The fact that you can make your own schedule and get things done on your own time however be prepared to work into the evenings or even weekends if there are sales to be made. Free swag, they give you Verizon gear, a company phone and laptop.

Cons

Where to begin? The company is unstructured and lacks real guidance. The training is a joke. Human resources and management are also ineffective. Be careful working for this company. The health insurance is very expensive and not worth it. You can find better opportunities elsewhere. The reimbursement for gas mileage is inadequate. No matter how far you drive, you only receive X dollars a week. That does not even cover wear and tear on your car or insurance, especially considering how expensive gas is. This company is cheap. It shows from start to finish in how employees are paid and reimbursed. You will get charge backs on your sales if customers return the sales. Management is very poor. They do not know how to lead or encourage employees and instead repeatedly ask about sales numbers. Many of the reviews here seem manufactured. In short, it is best to avoid working here if possible. With Verizon’s downhill trajectory not sure how viable working here would be.

I'm sorry your experience at Accelion didn't meet your expectations. Salary, commissions, bonuses, benefits, travel reimbursement, geographic territory and job requirements are all disclosed in writing to anyone prior to starting a position with us. If they didn't meet your expectations, you should not have accepted the job. The Territory Manager role is an entry-level outside sales job; we make this very clear during the interview process. We try our best to hire individuals with an appropriate amount of customer facing and sales experience but the majority of our candidates in the current job market are "overqualified". We can't simply ignore market conditions so we often hire folks that are overqualified, and we have had some success getting them to adapt to a more entry-level role than they attained previously. As you stated, the Territory Manager position affords a lot of schedule flexibility and it's not a difficult job once someone gets into a rhythm (typically 30-90 days) so a lot of folks value those job characteristics. Accelion has grown a lot since Covid (over 130%) which has created a lot of growth opportunities for folks with more experience to advance their career with us; and some of that growth has been to cover markets/territories that are not yet profitable for the company. If you were in one of those territories (~25% of our current footprint), I certainly understand your frustration that your territory required a bit more development but that is a part of the job. As for your comments about training and management, that is simply not the consensus. Mid-size companies like Accelion face many challenges but we have an advantage of having the owners (myself and my partner) directly involved in the day-to-day business operations and every Accelion employee has a direct relationship with one of us. Our direct numbers and emails are disclosed to every new employee during HR orientation and employees are encouraged to share their feedback with us directly. We get great scores on our employee surveys like GPTW, NPS, and EN for management and leadership and it's clear from other reviews here on GD that people generally respond well to our actions-based structure and no-nonsense style.

Pros

Working at Accelion gave me something I didn’t fully appreciate until I left: support, structure, and people who actually wanted to see me succeed. I felt respected from day one. My Area Manager always kept it real with me — pushed me when I needed it, but also gave me space to grow. I liked having control over my schedule, and when I was putting in the work, I was making good money. The Atlanta client team had real energy, and we looked out for each other.

Cons

It’s not a hand-holding type of job. You need to be disciplined and ready to hustle — especially in a market like Atlanta where competition is real. Some days were frustrating, no doubt. But it wasn’t the kind of frustration that came from lack of support — more like the usual ups and downs of the field.

Thanks for your review! I know exactly who you are! We (me and Christian) wished things would have worked out better for you in Atlanta! As we discussed during your final call, their were uncontrollable issues that you/Accelion couldn't solve; your amazing attitude carried the market so far and that is something we will always remember. Be well my friend! If you need an LOR for your future job search, shoot me or Chelcey an email and I'll work with Christian to write one up for you. :)
