I have been working at Access Development full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people work here. Business side is very accommodating to engineering when setting expectations and deadlines. Most days are great.

    Cons

Healthcare is expensive and coverage isn't great. Communication is lacking, often times requirements are scattered and hard to discover. A few big clients get mostly everything they ask for which ends up driving down quality.

I worked at Access Development full-time

    Pros

Access is an amazing place to work. The people there are motivated and you can tell everyone cares about their job. The 401k plan is great (50% match up to 10% of income) and there's free health care for a single person.

    Cons

Not a lot of room to grow. They tell you in the interviews that there are a lot of opportunities, but it's rare to be promoted.

Friendly and Fun culture. They are very open to new ideas and implementations. Continually trying to increase value of services and product. They have a great work life balance and understand that people have lives outside of work.

    Cons

There is not enough IT resources to go around

    Advice to Management

    More interaction with other departments

I have been working at Access Development full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I've been employed with Access for many years now. I've appreciated the career advancement opportunities afforded to me. I've had several roles throughout my tenure and have grown personally and professionally from each role. Through frank conversations with my bosses, I was able to cultivate role growth and advancement opportunities. I appreciated the opportunities I was provided AS WELL AS the learning opportunities for when I made mistakes. I had managers who let me fail sometimes as a means to teach me and help me grow as a professional. They mentored me through the good and the bad and that's rare for most companies. I've always felt that Access has invested in me as an employee and want to see me reach my potential. Access is also a place in which managers welcome and embrace employee's ideas and individual contributions. While you might hire on in a specific role, you can really mold your position in to what you want and what makes sense for the business/position. They are also quick to reward and embrace "the extra mile efforts" when employees exhibit them. Lastly, we have the best CEO! I've worked closely with him in all my various roles and have seen the quiet battles he fights every day. It's rare to find a CEO with an open door policy and actually live by it.

    Cons

The only con I can see is that individual departments tend to be silo'ed and thus communication inter-departmentally tends to fall short. But, you will find that with any company. I do see a real effort to try to fix that.

I have been working at Access Development full-time

    Pros

Access Development is a great place to work because of the people here. Everyone is kind, up beat and eager to help each other grow. The customers that Access Development works with are also easy to work with and easy to build great working relationships with.

    Cons

They could conduct more collaboration between departments.

I have been working at Access Development full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The culture is very laid back, and the management takes the time to stop and chat. The leadership and the way the company is run gives you a lot of optimism. They also offer the employee perks program, which in my opinion, is the best part of the company culture. I love being able to save so much money on my travel, recreation, and dining. I recommend the program for everyone!

    Cons

So far I have nothing negative to say. We offer the best positions and the best content. Hard to say anything bad about that.

    Advice to Management

    Keep employee engagement high.

I have been working at Access Development full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours/schedule, health benefits are so-so

    Cons

Management only cares about themselves. They will do anything they can to keep people down. Very hostile work environment if you try to move up in the company. They do not try to provide a conductive work environment.

    Advice to Management

Show appreciation and gratitude for your employees

    Pros

Fantastic casual, laid-back culture but everyone is also motivated and driven to succeed in their roles. Excellent benefits such as generous PTO policy, flexible work schedule, company-paid employee health insurance premiums, numerous company-sponsored events that give back to the community and a generous 401(k) match.

    Cons

    I can't think of anything.

    Pros

This is a great company with a laid back culture, but an amazing work ethic.

    Cons

Because of the age of the company, there are certain things that are set in place that aren't easy to change.

    Advice to Management

Keep embracing new, better, faster ways to do things.
