I have been working at Avidex full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Timely Payment, Allowing for exercise of both technical knowledge and customer service skill sets, Respectable amount of PTO, Generous compensation for certifications earned while on the job.

    Cons

The labor is contracted, so the client may be considering what they are paying Avidex for you rather than what you are actually paid in how hard you should be working.

    Advice to Management

Remember that your technicians are assets to be valued rather than resources to be expended in order to maximize profits, and you will retain more career-long technicians.

    Pros

Tons of training opportunities (I was able to get all of my CTS RUs while working there), exposure to all sorts of systems/environments (law firms, universities, biotech facilities, financial institutions, software companies) and big name clients in Silicon Valley

    Cons

Low pay, little opportunity for promotion

    Advice to Management

Trust your employees and don't talk down to them

I have been working at Avidex full-time

    Pros

Decent Benefits. 3 weeks PTO and good Professional work environment. Also very good about training

    Cons

Lower than average compensation. Heavily sales oriented. Most of the revenue goes to salesperson comission. Engineers are under compensated.

    Pros

Sometimes there would be pretty interesting projects with some fun problem solving. Also just due to the work load there was plenty of overtime pay.

    Cons

Expected to work long hours and weekends.

    Advice to Management

    More incentive for crazy hours.

    Pros

Management was reasonably nice. Well trained employees with moderately good benefits and descent pay. Some room for promotions, etc. Moderately fun place to work in. On site work can be fun, and allow you to go to a variety of places, however some onsite clients can be unfair.

    Cons

Management not very involved, and not always willing to hear employees side of the story. Very hands off at times.

    Advice to Management

Try to be more hands on with employees, even those handling on site contracts. Communicate more and encourage employees with more raises, promotions and other special incentives.
