    I worked at BACTES full-time

    Pros

Many of the individuals working at BACTES are dedicated to their clients and peers, wonderfully engaged and team-oriented, with long tenures of great results who work very hard.

    Cons

BACTES is an 'old school' company trying unsuccessfully to reinvent itself under the umbrella of ShareCare, as a healthcare technology company. However, BACTES sells against technology and in fact, has a very weak technology platform, as well as a very manual approach to processing medical records.

BACTES is very male-centric in the sales arena and my manager frequently admitted that it was 'under-represented by women.' It's an unfortunately typical 'old boys' club, with the preferred sales techniques being akin to motorhome sales - great for male salespeople very skilled in hardball, transactional sales rather than consultative ones where the relationship is important.

Male or female, if you don't make your numbers in 6 months, you're fired. The sales manager in the region in which I worked was inexperienced in sales and sales leadership and resorted to sales bullying tactics to humiliate salespeople in the performance improvement plan leading up to firing.

The other reason not to join this company is the reality of the healthcare current sector in terms of contraction of the number of companies needing BACTES services, as well as the fact that many companies are taking the services they offer in-house, no longer requiring a vendor. It's a mature business model, saturated, with no innovation and on the decline overall.

The other major factor is regulatory pressure, dramatically decreasing revenues and putting downward pressure on profits, making it very hard to support an expensive sales force.

    Advice to Management

Recognize that there is no substitute for poor sales leadership and no excuse for bullying, hazing and humiliating salespeople.

    Approves of CEO

I worked at BACTES full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Pays pretty well for those just out of college
    - The upper level management and HR are responsive and respectful
    - Upper management tries to keep in touch with employees and keeps them in the loop

    Cons

    - Mid-level management is utterly atrocious and backstabby
    - No coordination in field offices
    - No overtime opportunities
    - Very little effective training provided

    Advice to Management

Focus on your mid-level managers and make sure they are competent

I have been working at BACTES full-time

    Pros

    Great company overall.

    Cons

Electronic Medical Records Release of Information is a rapidly changing field with old and new players who are now becoming highly competitive and are newly offering the same services that this company formerly had offered exclusively. As a result, this company has rapid management and employee changes.

    Advice to Management

More close, in the field, contact with sales employees is needed. Better positioning for a changing and more competitive market is needed. Preprinted marketing materials and slicks should be supplied to sales personnel to save time in presentation prep and give sales personnel more face to face time with prospects.

    Pros

Flexible hours, Excellent training, but no place to grow, Health insurance almost more than you pay check, wish they starting thinking about there employees more than just a contract. No team work , missed communication every one against one another instead of meeting. Management go by what he say she say instead of finding ways to resolve issues.

    Cons

They don't defend there employees, underpay you to do a lot of work. Bactes pay you less than other Document management ROI Jobs. You can't stay late to scan and process because you can't do over time. If you work 80 hr and you get 88 hr you still get paid regular pay no overtime or time in a half. the first and on the 15th like the government not every other week, like some months have 3 pay periods.

    Advice to Management

I think Bactes should start off 13.00- 16.00 like other competition healthport, Ciox Heath, Smart Document, Compliance Release and other ROI Document Management companies.
