Pros

• The mission of the organization is important and deeply needed in the city. Lots of great moments with the people who live in their facilities. • Dedicated front-line staff and colleagues who genuinely care about residents. • Opportunities to work with vulnerable populations and gain crisis intervention experience.

Cons

• Lack of Security and Safety: Staff were frequently left without adequate support in dangerous situations (including incidents involving weapons and overdoses). Leadership often remained absent during critical incidents. • High Turnover: In a short period, multiple experienced Program Coordinators, Case Managers and other key staff left the organization. This left gaps in continuity of care and created unstable work environments. • Leadership Disconnect: Decision-makers were often off-site, with little understanding of the realities frontline staff faced daily. This resulted in poor morale and inconsistent direction. • Resource Strain: Chronic understaffing placed unsustainable pressure on remaining employees, increasing burnout and reducing service quality for residents.
