Pros

Global staff are kind and a pleasure to work with.

Cons

Working at Build Change will drain you. There’s deep mistrust of staff even if you work hard. Favoritism runs rampant. Boils down to whether CEO likes you. This feeds into a culture of fear provoked by leadership and carried out by those in the inner circle. Same two executives closest to the CEO get promoted often (check track record). Expressing one’s opinions or appearing to want change to antiquated ways will get you blackballed or ousted. Turnover amongst POC over the past 2 years is alarming. Build Change goes against what its name states.

Pros

Some very intelligent and passionate individuals working at the company, feels very much like work and personal life are two separate things as there are zero opportunities to acknowledge accomplishments, small talk in meetings, etc. so if you want a work place where people mind their own business, this is the place for you. Also good exposure to a lot of big-name orgs and events to work on despite being relatively small org. Pay is ok

Cons

The CEO is incredibly condescending and seems to have little to no consideration for the individuals she works with. I hope this has changed since my time with them, but there were many last-minute projects thrown at exec team members and an overall lack of empathy for those individuals. Rather than allowing opportunities to acknowledge achievements of team members, encourage a collaborative and supportive environment, there was 0 initiative to implement any sort of team culture here.
