Pros

The team on the floor is incredible and work tirelessly to give animals the best care despite restrictments from management

Cons

Business focus rather than animal welfare, money making is the priority, don't fund up to date working equipment, very short staffed meaning not enough staff for patients leading to long tiring hours. minimal career development opportunities and poor resources to learn from.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We’re delighted to hear your recognition of our team. Their commitment to delivering the best possible outcomes for animals, often in challenging circumstances, is something we are incredibly proud of. Our people are central to everything we do. We continue to invest significantly in supporting them and their working environment, including ongoing improvements to facilities, equipment, and technology across our operations. We also provide a wide range of support resources, regular check-ins with line managers, and structured career pathways, reflected in our strong track record of internal promotion. We recognise the importance of listening to colleagues. Their insight is invaluable in helping us continually improve, and we are committed to ensuring their voices are heard. Please continue to share feedback through internal surveys and regular 1-2-1s with your line manager. Thank you, CVS Team

Pros

Very little. They will sell their 'pension' and 'pay rises' to you as a benefit yet they're only keeping in line with the minimum by law. There's some health benefits but they got rid of the 'Refresh' budget so staff feel less valued.

Cons

The fact they are willing to pay their CEO millions but tell individual practices that they don't have the budget for literal pain relief for animals having major surgey, or for safe cleaning chemicals for reptiles species. Literally it's dystopian, cannot do your job properly or ethically because you're told you 'don't have the budget'. I think your Regional managers, clinical directors and anyone off the front line with their kids in private school and 4 skii holidays a year will disagree about the low pay. It's minimum wage for any of the most hard working staff. Very limited opportunity for pay increases. Very little management of managers, so senior staff get away with literally breaking employment law like telling staff off for discussing wages and pretending it's in our contract not to discuss pay. Needs serious investment into the service they're providing and to stop prioritising shareholder profit. But of course they'd never do that.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. There will always be areas where we’d like to invest more in pay but we made a significant investment in nurses’ pay in 2025. If you have a concern around the way that a specific pay issue has been handled please can you let your HR representative know? On pensions, we have to disagree as this benefit has been significantly improved and our matching contributions rise well in excess of the statutory minimum. Many thanks, CVS Team
