I worked at Community Options (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Consumers and their family. The local staff are great to work with as well. It is rewarding knowing that you help others become more independent and successful.

    Cons

    CEO, pay

They don't give out any bonuses or raises but knowing that you help other people makes up for how poorly the company treats you.

    Advice to Management

When I worked for this company it became very apparent that the organization was corrupt from the top down. I worked for them for 3 years. They routinely spent money on things that did not benefit the individuals they swear they try to protect and advocate for. The CEO has had several affairs with his staff including a Vice President, media relations staff and Executive Directors. He typically hires young attractive women, usually over the more qualified people. He has called his older directors ugly and will make a move on any Director who is weak enough not to say no. I finally couldn't take it anymore and left to another company. I do not recommend working here or placing your loved ones in their care. Money and big houses are the only thing the CEO cares about and it bleeds down.

    Cons

Crappy wages. No raises. No over time. Staff is NOT appreciated or respected.
