      Tight-knit company, benefits and salary need to improve.

      Pros

      Great foot-in-the-door, nice home office location, good agency experience, and hybrid/remote schedule.

      Cons

      The benefits could improve drastically. A 401K or match is not provided. The sick and vacation time is to a minimum. Salaries are nowhere near matching the state's Annual Salary or Hourly Wages. This causes long turnovers for departments and "more" stress on employees. Employees are not treated equally. More of a "put your time in" and you will get rewarded. No "trust" within employees. There are various outdated practices and no standard of operations. Little room for growth within the company. Different standards for different departments.

      Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We agree that our home office location is beautiful overlooking the marina on the Intracoastal Waterway. And we are glad that we are able to offer a flexible work schedule for most positions. Compass Media does offer a 401K but is unable to offer a matching contribution. To address this limitation, Compass Media offers other unique benefits. We continue to evaluate our benefits offerings and have made improvements every year. Four improvements or additions have been made so far in 2023. The nature of our work varies greatly from department to department. We reward consistent high performance over time and evaluate our salaries carefully against not only Alabama standards, but, since we hire remote employees coast to coast, also regional and national standards. We continue to work to improve and appreciate those team members who help us look for solutions.

      -Great company culture -High expectations paired with excellent managerial support and continuing education opportunities -Lots of autonomy (AKA not micromanaged) -Fun and friendly work environment

      -Pay is below average for the position for both Alabama and the US -No 401K match -No maternity leave -Limited PTO

      We strive to provide a positive workplace culture and take your input seriously when shaping company policy. We regularly review our full compensation and benefit package against similar companies locally and regionally in our industry. We encourage those who feel they aren't being fairly compensated to have a discussion with their manager. We continue to enhance our benefits offerings. In 2023 we added two additional paid holidays, increased the employers contribution to the health and dental plans by 15 % and offered a hybrid work week to the Orange Beach, AL staff. We do offer a 401k plan and historically, although we fall below the size required by FMLA, we have offered maternity leave to our employees by keeping their position open until they return to work either part time or full time.

      1) outdated software and processes 2) slow adoption of recommendations/somewhat resistant to change 3) fairly narrow selection of clients 4) not much room for potential career advancement

Ideally we would have the personnel in place to allow us to be a leader in system and process improvement. Once we are able to grow our team, the selection for clients and room for advancement should follow.
