I worked at Country Home Learning Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great opportunity to work with a diverse group of children.

    Cons

People working there were cold, and intentionally cruel to newcomers. Setting new teachers up for failure by giving them false information that would mislead you causing the newcomer to look “bad” in the eyes of management so that they’ll look better at their job. They will schedule you from open to close, but you won’t ever get overtime because they’ll tell you to take over 2-3 hours at lunch. There are segregated cliques among the staff. Staff including management were known to badmouth other staff members to parents. Certain staff that are favored by management will hang out in the office all day and are allowed to peruse even personal files and items of other staff members, causing class ratios to be off, often causing the remaining teachers to have more than twice the state ratio, while the office has 5 or more staff members eating , shopping, and chatting. Children who have repeatedly brought acute physical harm and verbal harassment to other children and staff remain in the school even though other children are terrified of them. This seems to be due to the fact that some parents are known to bring gifts to the staff members and management as well. It was absolutely the worst experience if my professional career. I don’t think all locations are like this, but I would Not suggest working for the location near 281 & Thousand Oaks.

    Advice to Management

The owner needs to seriously reconsider the staff from management on down.

I have been working at Country Home Learning Center full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Working at CHLC on Poss Rd, I receive paid vacation, paid holidays and paid training. Also, health care benefits, 401K plus guidance for further education. There is always opportunity for advancement. In addition CHLC has been like my second home and my second family. The environment is always positive. The director and assistant director are always supportive with our needs and have a plethora of knowledge. Our curriculum coordinator is very helpful and always makes sure we have what we need. The front office is amazing and ready to help in every turn. Finally, its so much fun working here.

    Cons

None . I absolutely love this learning center.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for being so amazing and supportive.
