Not what it claims to be

Pros

None that I would consider. Aside from the CEO other members of the team were great. All of those peers have moved on to bigger and better opportunities.

Cons

Due to the unprofessional and abusive CEO there is a toxic environment. No benefits of any sort. CEO will make promises that he cannot deliver. CEO will micromanage all aspects of your work and process without expertise.

I'm sorry your feelings were hurt. I doubt you were an employee because Cybis doesn't have employees. We have a growing team of 50+ contractors and partners. If you were micromanaged, it's because you were not good at your job and failed the team and/or our clients.

Pros

You will be compensated fairly for your expertise. Ignoring the penalties he will throw at you, you'll still be paid well.

Cons

I saw the creative team go from 6-7 people to eventually zero. From people quitting on the spot to picking up and driving to another state over night. You will not be here longer than 2 years unless you're a remote freelancer and only talk by email. If you're experienced in the industry:: Unless you bank account has zero dollars keep looking. If you're just getting started:: Limit yourself to 1 year and remember that none of what happens matters. The company has very extended contracts and is somewhat in a monopoly so don't worry about anything going wrong. The only person who will try to stress you out is the CEO, Jeff. Also every person who left Cybis has continued in the industry in much better situations. So do not worry about leaving on a bad note. Being ex-Cybis is basically an exclusive club at this point. If you take this job please do an evaluation of yourself after 6 months if you are stressed at any point. Stress has very real consequences that people will not tell you about. I have a permanent rare condition thanks to the stress created from this environment. Take care of yourself please.

The creative team evolved from full-time to exclusively freelance/contractual relationships around the time you posted. Our creative team is larger today than ever! YES, I push hard to deliver the best for our audience. Inspiring via creative media & live event productions is both my passion and the company's mission. Not everyone is going to make the cut. And at least a few of the "exclusive club" members have returned to me to say Thank You for pushing them and propelling their career. I'm extraordinarily proud of these individuals and my role in shaking them up. : )

Pros

You get to travel and stay at nice hotels. You're food is paid for.

Cons

Owner tries to micromanage too much which irritates the employees. Interns are expected to work crazy hours for no pay.

I agree, micromanaging is a challenge. Our clients/audience have high expectations, so the only thing more challenging than micromanaging is replacing a client due to failure to deliver. Fortunately, we have a near 100% client retention rate... go figure.
