No thought-leadership, poor management

Pros

-The overwhelming majority of junior people are great people to work with & work extremely hard. -It is a good foot in the door for someone who wants to learn about the programmatic/advertising industry.

Cons

-More toxic & gossipy than a middle school lunch room, and it comes straight from the top. Management has a select few people that they favor and lend their ear to, and everyone else is an outsider. There's a reason that there's massive turnover at the mid/junior levels while upper-management has been entrenched for years. -They are a sales organization masquerading as thought-leaders in advertising. The whole company structure is set up to churn deals as fast as possible, which is fine. But, they become lost when they have to deliver actual results for clients. -Part of this problem is the "products" that Digilant builds in-house. Most of them add little value to actual campaign performance & oftentimes are abandoned several months after they're jubilantly announced. -Culture of burnout. C-level people love to talk about how hard they work, and it makes lower-level employees feel bad for shutting their computers at 5:30. -The stress level seems to run at a constant 8 out of 10. To some degree, it's the nature of the business, but management could do a better job ratcheting things down... it's just display ads after all.

Pros

-Members of the campaign solutions and media strategy teams are friendly, smart and hard workers. -Work from home one day a week. -Summer Fridays. -Free food.

Cons

-No proprietary solutions -MediaMath reseller -Constant turnover. Employees are laid off quarterly in every division, even sales. -Leadership is inexperienced and ineffective. C-level management is creating a company that is going back in time. -Campaign solutions team is treated poorly by upper management. -Specific members of the sales team are favored despite the fact that they talk down to their team members. -No long term career opportunities.

Worst Company I Worked At

Pros

I would never recommend this company. The only good thing is that they are good at poaching you in, and so a good amount of good people had to deal with their BS.

Cons

Starts from the top, absolute failure of leadership on practically every area of the business. Simple issues take extremely long to resolve. This company is only open due to a legacy business model. Every new lob they try to launch ends in failure. Massive turnover. Director level people leaving after only 6 months. Company was tied up in litigation my entire time there. In my experience the company engaged in sketchy business practices. An employee was terminated after being told they were too expensive and they blocked unemployment this way instead of giving an official layoff. This is after we worked the whole pandemic shortstaffed since they let people go and on avg over 12 hour work days every single day. That's a very good snapshot of how they treat people. It's a white collar sweatshop. If you have any experience at all skip this company, the offers might look compelling but this is a dead end and you will be worked into the ground and spit out. They also have made awful acquisitions which are putting them very likely into financial trouble, so be careful, do your research.
