I have been working at Directive full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexibility (Remote work) Growth Opportunities High Level Strategic Work Free coffee and food Great office environment Mentors and Leaders Who Care When I saw all the negative reviews, I felt obligated to write a truthful review. It made me really upset to see someone clearly just trying to hurt Garrett and the company, when he has done so much for everyone who works at the company. I’ve never had a boss or mentor who...

Newer company, so there are growing pains Every once in a while it can sometimes feel like there is some miscommunication between departments, which can make for work being inefficient, but the directors do a good job of immediately addressing this so that we can continue to grow.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent that you are sometimes going to have to work overtime in order to be successful. I think people have created a false sense of what it means to work hard and how to be successful in an agency. Working at Directive is nothing like working for other agencies, and that is a good thing. But it’s still an agency and I think people need to realize that.

    Pros

Great in-house atmosphere. Remote and Travel supportive for those with a wanderlust spirit. Most flexible and receptive organization I've ever worked for. True open door

    Cons

Honestly, none if you're Ok with quickly evolving strategies processes (Which is pretty much a requirement in this industry)

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great vision and mission

I worked at Directive full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Here are the few pros that Directive actually offers: Pro #1 - Grace. Grace is the unofficial official office mascot, the CEO's dog, who is the cutest and friendliest of big ol' fluffy puppies. She is literally their saving grace.
Pro #2 - Coworkers. Coworkers - excluding management - is the one reason I wanted to stay.
Pro #3 - Cold brew and snacks. Plenty of snacks in the kitchen. Cereal, chips, jerky....

    Cons

They recently removed their "Unlimited PTO" benefit because - get this - people were taking vacations! WOW. The CEO said that they're changing it to a 3 week soft cap (WTF is that?! You can't put a "soft cap" on "UNLIMITED PTO". Stop acting like you care and just don't offer it!)  He also announced that if you take 3 weeks every year it will and I QUOTE "it will look bad on you". 3 weeks of mental/physical vacay...

    Advice to Management

To MR. CEO: If you're going to "respond" to a bad review and are trying to be honest, I suggest that you, the CEO, actually writes the response. It’s viciously clear that it's someone on the marketing team. Have someone to write it for you who is at least trying to sound like you...
You're experiencing plenty of growing pains and aren't handling your company's situations very well. Even in your Glassdoor “responses”...

I worked at Directive full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Coworkers Unlimited Snacks Spacious office Remote option

    Cons

Directive’s CEO and the marketing team loves to portray a false image of what Directive really is. All the positive reviews you’re reading are either written by employees who got asked to write a positive review by the CEO himself (or the marketing team) or it’s from recent hires who absolutely have no idea what they’re in for. Directive is an agency that preaches work-life-balance and a false sense of culture but here’s...

      I worked at Directive

      Pros

-unlimited snacks -remote option -pool table -“unlimited pto”

      Cons

This place preaches and advertises their "culture"/"work-life-balance" online, but the reality is this: If you want true work-life balance, DO NOT WORK HERE. I promise you that all these perks they advertise -unlimited pto, snacks, remote option, etc. are not worth it. Also, unlimited pto does not exist. You are expected to get your work done ahead of time in order to take your vacation. So really, you’ll work 80 hours...

      Pros

At Directive, there is potential to excel as an individual if you are willing to learn and take the opportunities to grow. - Transparency is key to growth in a company and when working with clients and at Directive being open about wins, loses, issues and solutions are encouraged. - Managers are open for improvement and always willing to hear what you have to say -If you are new to the digital marketing world,...

      Pros

Directive is so focused on its people that the company culture is amazing. There are always opportunities to grow, we all support each other, our directors truly care about their teams, and everyone is passionate about doing the best work possible for their clients. And the cold brew and kombucha on tap isn't bad either. ;)

      Cons

I have been working at Directive full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Directive has one of the best company cultures out there. People here are super supportive. They promote work/life balance which is shown in the unlimited PTO, and the option of remote work after 6 months. Company has competitive pay and awesome career advancement opportunities. Pros

Safe environment for women with true equal opportunity, great benefits, ability to work remote, unlimited vacation time, flexible schedules, great people who are professional yet still fun, wonderful CEO and COO. It's just a great work/life balance all around.

      Cons

None come to mind, honestly. We're continually growing so we're learning new things every day: how to operate more efficiently, how to train better, etc.

      Advice to Management

Just keep doing what you're doing: continue empowering your directors and holding them accountable to grow so that they in turn train up their teams to be excellent, efficient, and happy!
