Cons
1. I was never paid for my work I was told that I would be paid for both the trail article and any work that I did in creating other articles. 2. Ethically questionable work 1SecondCopy wants fluff articles that make arguments without research to back them up, or to use sophistry (viz., arguing for things that could be harmful). I was supposed to write an article about a product I never saw, and write argumentation counter to common research that indicated this product would not be good or healthy to use. 3. You are expected to work with and love ChatGPT The company is called 1SecondCopy because they want a version of ChatGPT to do the heavy lifting in writing (this is no secret: there were multiple articles about it during its founding). However, ChatGPT is out of date with knowledge about science, and one is supposed to edit after it, so it doesn't look like the article was written by AI, as well as for SEO. There are people who find ChatGPT and its relatives to be useful and helpful, and maybe there are some younger people who have more experience with it than I did, but it honestly would have been easier for me to just quickly research, write, and edit the articles myself. I politely noped out when I realized that spending time on learning ChatGPT was impeding my writing rather than assisting. The employers did not give their employees time to become familiar with it, and if you wanted to, you were expected to do so in your own time. One of the higher ups said, "Of course, we will pay you." A year later and I've not heard from them at all. Also, they will not give you direct deposit. They expect you to use an uncommon app for your payments.
