Pros

I thoroughly enjoy my work at AI Biotech. I guess the difference between my outlook and other postings would be I am not crippled with negativity and a horrible attitude which became toxic in my work. Tenure at AI Biotech (formerly CBI) doesn't equate to knowledge of what goes on behind closed business doors. Just because you THIOUGHT you knew what was going on does not mean you actually knew what was happening with business decisions. These other replies are so funny to read that these employees were so miserable at the company but the funny part is they stayed..... and stayed.... and stayed. AI Biotech went through and continues to try and climb out of previous bad decisions/government mandates and decrease in new work brought in. So ANYONE with common business sense looks for where profitability is or has potential (sorry poster from March 17 ) making money is a priority in a business. Since we were not we had to make strategic decisions and yes that meant cutting areas where there was excess or no business left. It sucks, yes but the company is not in business to NOT do business. With that being said- it baffles me that these disgruntled people bash the company that took care of them (some far too long) and say how corrupt it is but they stayed..... and stayed.... collecting a nice pay check every 2 weeks, great vacation benefits, and even a Christmas bonus this year which came directly from the owners (remember bonus means-a reward for above and beyond for those of you who have no understanding of the word) is not an entitlement. I can point to a few - namely some of past postings that did not meet that definition, but they had their hand out collecting the money. Sorry it was so horrible for you but you never had to stay. it really doesn't say a lot for your character to mooch off of a company when you honestly have no allegiance or respect for it. kind makes you seem more like a truth bender.... good luck to the next company that invests in you. hopefully your ethics will shift and you will be a team player and not just in it to cause conflict. where was the horrible posting while you were employeed??? AI Biotech is trying very hard to make the company what is has the potential to be. I think we have a great group of staff left to do this. There was a lot to clean up (figuratively and literally) over the past 12 months. But we are on to brighter things.

Cons

I think the salaries should be adjusted to industry when the ability is there for us.

Pros

American International Biotechnology takes care of their employees! I can come and go as I please, as long as I can fit in my 40 hours a week. No working overtime or on the weekends. My salary is fair. I never feel rushed or stressed out. And there is so much technology and science here! Everything from NGS sequencing (Illumina, Ion Torrent, 454, Sanger), to STR analysis, peptide sythesis. It's really a unique place in that there are so many different fields under one roof. I'm not micromanaged and free to think and develop, design, and implement. The company is a good size. We are big enough to pursue big/new projects, but not so big that employees get lost and forgotten. I think right now we are around 150. I have learned a lot here and there is so much more to learn. I haven't gotten bored yet.

Cons

The salary is fair, but below a little below average. I take it as an exchange for a good working environment.

Pros

I have been an employee at this company for over four years. I love my job, I love the science we perform, and the love the co-workers that I have. This company has state of the art equipment and participates in a wide variety of projects. Every day is different. Are there challenges? YES. AIBiotech was created from the remnants of a previous company that had teetering on collapse for years. The company has experienced some very tough times for several reasons. 1) Previous ownership were left in place and purchased equipment without regard to need or cost. 2) Projects were bid out below cost in an attempt to secure future business. 3) Clinical reimbursements for the lab industry have dropped in recent years. Despite this, AIBiotech has continued to remain in business and keep people employed. Recent years the number of staff positions have reduced. This is not a unique problem for this company. CBI tried to be all things for all companies and it did not work. Business decisions had to be made to decide which groups were generating income, bottom line. The challenge here is most of the employees seem to be unaware that private companies need to make money. This is not a federally funded research institution. We have lost some great scientists and it is unfortunate.

Cons

The company is not without issue. I feel that most employees are under paid for their positions. Insurance benefits are expensive (not uncommon in business today). Employees are working harder than ever due to personnel cuts. Despite the challenges, I still have enjoyed my time here.
