Pros

At the end of the day, there are none.

Cons

AMS' tagline is 'True Workforce Dexterity' but cannot live up to this for itself. It would be laughable, if it weren't for them putting hundreds of its team members out of work with less than a month of severance and little to no vacation payout. There is virtually no management skill or competence within the client/account I was assigned. Most of 2022 was spent overworked and overloaded, with promises that we would 'right-size' soon. When I was hired, I took hundreds - yes hundreds- of requisitions from another recruiter who was overwhelmed and left with no notice. Account was severely short staffed, and after all the 'right sizing', the majority of the team, including myself, have now been laid off. Yet, minimal reductions in incompetent managers who do not know how to do the recruiter's job. Hiring managers within the account are constantly passed to new recruiters creating gaps in knowledge and poor customer experience. Client did not provide hiring projections for 2023 until June of 2023 - yes, halfway through the business year! AMS does nothing to manage client expectations or influence processes when they are broken. Common sense improvements are offered but AMS consistently falls short of delivery. AMS and client never get it right the first time, and there is significant time wasted revisiting processes to figure out what went wrong. When surveyed, less than 30% of colleagues believed that processes were simple enough to do their jobs successfully. What an embarrassing number. Other reviews mentioning 75-100 layoffs are referencing individual occurrences within single accounts. AMS touts the size and diversity of its client portfolio, yet no effort is made to redeploy displayed team members onto other accounts. This is because AMS business volume is shrinking. There is no job security here.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. You're right, we have had to make some difficult decisions and say goodbye to colleagues who work on accounts that have seen a softening in client hiring volumes. The reality is this is a tough economic environment for our entire industry, something we strive to be transparent about. We continue to work hard to minimize the impact on our colleagues, looking to re-deploy to other accounts and find new opportunities within the business. We know good talent is hard to find and we invest in it considerably, so these decisions are never made lightly. We are though, fortunate, to not have lost any clients and that's in no small way a result of the fantastic work our sourcers, recruiters and talent specialists do on a daily basis. We are proud of the trusted and long term partnerships we create with our clients and continue to be excited about our pipeline and pressing on with our bold growth agenda, creating more career opportunities for our tenured and new talent. Please feel free to email engagement@weareams.com if you would like to discuss any of this further.

Pros

Flexible and remote working Great company but with the right leadership

Cons

Since the leadership change last year, the culture within AMS has deteriorated significantly. The new CDTO’s approach has created an environment that feels increasingly toxic and unsustainable for many employees. There is a strong sense that every problem is expected to be solved—or sidelined—by AI, often without realistic planning, sufficient resources, or input from the teams actually responsible for execution. This has led to confusion, constant shifting priorities, and a lack of meaningful support for getting work done effectively. At the same time, workloads have increased to an unsustainable level. Expectations continue to rise, but without additional resources or clear prioritization. Many teams are stretched thin, juggling multiple high-pressure initiatives with tight deadlines, which only adds to the stress and makes it difficult to maintain quality or balance. More concerning is the leadership style. Communication often feels driven by pressure and fear rather than clarity or collaboration. Many employees feel they are operating under constant scrutiny, which has contributed to widespread stress, anxiety, and low morale across the department. It’s becoming common to hear colleagues express reluctance to come into work, not because of the workload itself, but because of the atmosphere.
